Mustangs open volleyball season with pair of losses

Waubay-Summit Mustangs opened up their volleyball season Aug. 29 against Leola/ Frederick. The Wilmot Wolves faced off against the Mustangs Sept 3. Waubay-Summit Head coach Shonda Holscher has started the season with two losses, both resulting in sweeps for the other teams.

Webster Area Bearcat cross country runners competes at Milbank Invitational

first cross country meet of the season Sept. 3 at Milbank. According to coach Cheryl McCreary, the Bearcats were able to produce a good first outing for the season.Running for the varsity girls in a 4K event was medalist Hannah Sonstebo who finished seventh with a time of 18:58.23.

McCook Central/Montrose Fighting Cougars pounce Webster Area Bearcats in football

Webster Area Bearcats took on the McCook Central/Montrose Fighting Cougars Aug. 30. The Fighting Cougars took advantages of the mistakes Webster Area offered up and rolled to a 33-6 victory. Head coach Tyler Wagner mentioned that the Bearcats did not come ready to play against the Fighting Cougars.

Webster Area Bearcats volleyball bow down to Monarchs

Webster Area Bearcats faced off against the Warner Monarchs Sept. 3. The Bearcats were swept in the affair losing the match in three sets.Currently, the Bearcats are 1-2 with the sole win coming in a sweep against the Deuel Cardinals Aug. 29 at the armory.

Webster Area Bearcats opened up their football season Aug. 23 on the road against the Sisseton Redmen. Head coach Tyler Wagner’s team dominated Sisseton with a suffocating defense and overpowering running game as the Bearcats won the game 36-0.

Webster Area Bearcats volleyball team neutralized by Great Plains Lutheran in season home opener

Webster Area volleyball opened up their season at home against Great Plains Lutheran Aug. 27. The Bearcats lost in four sets with the third set being the sole victory for the team. Despite the loss, Webster Area head coach Emily Wagner said that there are great takeaways to be had from this loss.

Webster Area volleyball kicks off their season Aug. 27 with a home game against Great Plains Lutheran. Emily Wagner is excited to coach the Bearcats this year.As the season is about to start, Wagner emphasizes setting the tone for her team.
