Reporter & Farmer is a politically independent, locally driven and fair weekly publication which strives to serve its readers and advertisers throughout the Day County area with a balanced view and historic record of the week while providing a public forum through letters to the editor for readers to express their views and opinions. Its emplooyees are encouraged to provide excellent customer service and to play an active role in the community.

To suggest a news story or photograph, please call the newsroom Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at (605) 345-3356. If you believe a news story to be incorrect or misleading, please call the news editor or publisher. Our mission is to make sure the record is set straight for the history books.
Letters Policy
Letters to the editor discussing community issues are encouraged. Maximum length for letters to the editor is 350 words, limited to one letter per writer per 30 days. Letters must be written by a local resident or subscriber and subject matter must be related to local events or issues or on topics previously published in Reporter & Farmer. Submissions must include author's name, address and phone number for varification purposes (not to be published). Unsigned letters will not be published. This publication reserves the right to edit and/or condense letters for print as well as to not publish letters it deems unsuitable, libelous or for which it may be held legally liable.
Letters deadline is weekly Wednesdays by 10 a.m. unless otherwise noted.

Tours of the Newspaper
We encourage schools, churches, youth groups and other organizations to tour our facility. Group sizes of five to 15 are preferred. You are welcome to tour the newspaper Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Please call (605) 345-3356 to schedule your tours in advance.
Publisher's Liability for Error
The publisher shall not be liable for slight changes or typographical errors that do not lessen the value of an advertisement. The publisher's liability for other errors or omissions in connection with an advertisement is strictly limited to publication of the advertisement in any subsequent issue or the refund of money paid for the advertisement.
Indemnification
The advertiser and/or advertising agency agrees to defend and indemnify the publisher against any and all liability, loss or expense arising from claims of libel, unfair competition, unfair trade practices, infringement of trademarks, copyrights, trade names, patents, or proprietary rights or violation of rights of privacy, resulting from the publication of the advertiser's advertisement.
