Webster Area hosts first cross country meet of season

Webster Area Bearcats hosted their first home cross country invite Sept. 16 at the Webster Golf Course. The Bearcats finished in second place out of six teams, according to coach Cheryl McCreary.The Bearcats had three girl varsity runners at their home opener.

Webster City Council conducted a special meeting Sept. 13 to address the golf course closing date, an inspection for surface water discharge and to pay outstanding bills.The first business item for the city council’s meeting was to address the official closing date for the Webster Golf Club.

Webster Area Bearcats volleyball topple Sisseton

Webster Area Bearcats competed against the Sisseton Redmen Sept. 17. Bearcats ended up winning the contest in four sets. According to head coach Emily Wagner, the Bearcats are at their best when they communicate which ultimately leads to wins.

Bearcats offense stifled by Tigers in homecoming football game

Webster Area Bearcats finished homecoming week as they faced off against the Groton Area Tigers Sept. 6. The game was a low-scoring affair with the Bearcats losing 7-14. Coach Tyler Wagner said the team is trending in the right direction, but ultimately the lack of execution is resulting in losses.
