Webster Area student Gage Wik is pictured competing in regional high school calf roping. He placed fifth-team roping, sixth tie down in Huron and sixth team roping in Watertown. He and Bryn Sippel competed in two weekends of East River regional high school rodeos June 7-8 in Huron and June 14-15 in Watertown and were eligible to compete in the 76th South Dakota State High School Rodeo Finals in Ft. Miotke represents Webster at boys state

Webster Area High School senior Gage Miotke attended the 82nd South Dakota Boys State session June 2-6 at Northern State University in Aberdeen.“The older I get the more intrigued I am with politics and government,” Miotke said.

Webster VFW Teeners come alive after season opening losses

Webster VFW Post 4690 Teeners lost their first game June 6 against the Redfield Flickertails 6-11 in Redfield.Chase Gregerson started the game for Webster. Gregerson allowed four hits and six runs over two innings, striking out one and walking one.
Jack Shoemaker pitched during Webster Legion Post 40’s 4-2 victory over Claremont at Bob Wiley Field in Webster. Shoemaker totaled 10 strikeouts with two hits and two walks during his five inning complete game.

Webster Legion Post 40 took on Claremont in a double header June 9 at Bob Wiley Field in Webster.Webster opened with a 4-2 victory in the first game aided by a 10 strikeout pitching performance from Jack Shoemaker.

Webster golf course makes changes to increase revenue

With an increase in tournaments over the years the Webster Municipal Golf Course is now limiting weekend tournaments in an effort to maximize the time patrons can spend on the course and heighten revenue.

Webster Area golfers wrap up the season at state tournament

Webster Area School’s golf season came to an end after competing at the two-day state tournament June 2-3 held in Watertown at Cattail Crossing for the boys and Prairie Winds for the girls.
