Groton Area cross country had two varsity runners compete in the Groton Invitational meet on the Olive Grove golf course Sept. 29.For the boys 5k Riley Shellenberger finished 12th in 20:11.70 and in the girls 5k Ryelle Gilbert finished sixth in 21:25.66.Tiger’s next meet is Oct.

Groton Area played at home Sept. 26 against Clark/Willow Lake and fell 7-20.The team’s lone touchdown was scored on the ground by Asher Johnson who was the Tiger’s leading rusher with 33 yards on 15 carries.

Waubay/Summit varsity volleyball served up an opening set win 25-20 against Great Plains Lutheran Sept. 18 in Watertown but couldn’t keep the momentum losing the following three sets 23-25, 15-25 and 22-25 to lose the match 1-3.
