Mustangs compete in Legion Relays

Waubay/Summit track and field traveled to Sisseton May 1 to compete in the Legion Relays at Sisseton Athletic Complex. Both sides had a pretty good performance and athletes were able to keep all results competive.

Waubay Special Olympics athletes come home with high placing from track and field meet

Waubay Special Olympics to Milbank to compete in the 2026 Northeast Area Athletics Track and Field Meet May 1. Three athletes competed and all of them participated in multiple events throughout the day.“They participated in various events and came home with high placings,” said Cindy Weyh.

Bearcat golfers had a rough meet, but are ready for the rest of the season

Webster Area Bearcat golfers went to Clear Lake Golf Club to participate in a quad event facing Deuel, Great Plains Lutheran and Clark/Willow Lake April 23. Seth Lesnar led the boys side, shooting a 74 and securing first. Bailee Ninke led the girls side shooting a 100 and placing third.

Groton Area Track and Field

Groton Area competed in the Orville Pfitzer Relays at Hugh Schilling Field in Britton April 21. Keegan Tracy had a good showing with a few top three placings and both the girls and boys had top three placings in the relay series.Boys results100 meters: K. Tracy 11.43 second, Lincoln Krause 11.

Success factor policy faces uphill battle for SDHSAA

PIERRE – The South Dakota High School Activities Association isn’t having much success in drumming up interest in a success factor for athletics. Such a policy would allow teams to move up or down in classification based on their success or lack of it.

Consistent placings for Mustangs Track and Field
