Bearcat golfers have multiple athletes place in top positions

Webster Area golfers traveled to Britton Country Club May 8 to compete in the Northeast Conference (NEC) Golf Tournament. This was another good showing from the golfers and overall the team had three boys and two girls place in the tournament.

Mustang golfers traveled to Aberdeen May 11 to compete in the Pre-reigon/ Eastern Coteau Conference Tournament.Boys resultsIn the ECC boys team Waubay shot 117 over par with a total of 330 placing fifth.Derek Karst shot 34 over par with a total of 105 and placed 20th.

Waubay/Summit golfers traveled to Watertown April 30 to compete in the Florence/Henry Invitational. Sage Gaikowski had a very consistent game and earned herself first place in the girls individuals. Boys resultsLinken Niles shot 50 over par with a total of 122 and placed 21st.

Stover inducted

Twelve South Dakota basketball standouts including Webster Bearcat Lonni Stover will be inducted into South Dakota High School Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2026 Aug. 22 in Sioux Falls. He was instrumental in Webster’s run to the 1982 Class B state championship.

Webster Area Bearcat golfers competed in the Hamlin Invite at Lake Region Golf Club near Arlington on April 30. According to coach Tim Lesnar, Seth Lesnar placed first during the match and only shot two over par.“He (S. Lesnar) struck the ball well all day.
