City of Webster’s water rates will go up in 2026

Webster City Council met Nov. 3 in regular session and held the first reading of Ordinance #553 which will raise city water and sewer rates beginning in 2026.Rates in the current version of the ordinance would rise by $1 for the distribution and maintenance (DM) charge from $8.50 to $9.

Webster Bearcats football team advance to the Dome

EvEnts15 years ago November 8, 2010Local trucker Greg Pesall took part in the 2010 Convoy & Truck Show for SD Special Olympics. The event was at W.H. Lyons Fairgrounds in Sioux Falls and over $29,000 was raised.

Grassfire breaks out in Andover

Andover Fire Department responded to a call during the afternoon of Oct. 26 for a grassfire northeast of Andover along U.S. Hwy. 12 and 417th Ave.
Jeff Smidt of Webster Fire Department hoses down the outside of a detached garage at 14074 SD Hwy. 12 near Webster after an electrical fire broke out Oct. 23. Assistant fire chief Eric Kwasniewski reported there was no one injured in the fire and no major structural damage was sustained to the building.

Electrical fire in detached garage yields no injuries north of Webster

Webster Fire Department responded to a call Oct. 23 at 4 p.m. for a detached garage at 14074 SD Hwy. 25 north of Webster which caught fire.Assistant fire chief Eric Kwasniewski reported the fire was electrical in nature and no one was injured in the incident.
