Women raise $12,700 for local charities

Five nominated non-profits from across Day and Marshall counties were represented Dec. 2 at the first annual Women Who Give event, held in Webster. This event drew 117 women who collectively raised $12,700 in total.

Annual coyote hunt benefits military families

The 19th annual coyote hunt will be held at Roslyn Community Hall and Fire Department Dec. 12-14. This three day event will raise money for South Dakota military members and their families who are in need of help. Organizer Patti Mitchell said this hunt has previously helped many families.

Commissioners mull over Jake braking sign for U.S. Hwy. 12

At the Day County Commissioners meeting Dec. 2 Webster resident Al Block wanted more information on the Jake brake sign situation and asked the commissioners once again if they’d consider adding one next to his house on U.S. Highway 12.

Spreading the spirit of Christmas through anonymous gift giving with traditonal Webster event

The 30th annual Spirit of Christmas event will take place in December at Dacotah Bank, Cor-Trust Bank and First Interstate Bank in Webster with a goal of spreading the spirit of Christmas to less fortunate children in the area.
Jennifer Roerig presents the top 100 Strong of Marshall and Day counties award to Marie Marlow of the Marshall County Food Pantry during the first annual Women Who Give event Dec. 2 held in Webster. Five non-profits were in the running for the top prize, this year equating to $9,000. Each of the other four charities received $925. In total, the event saw 117 women register and raised $12,700.
