Waubay has issues with water pumps, sewer lines

Waubay City Council met Jan. 7 and discussed issues related to the sewer and water. According to mayor Brienne Soldier, Waubay’s sewer line had issues recently related to damages and two residents don’t have back-flow valves, meaning their water could be flowing into the city’s water.

Andover Fire Department receives $5,000 grant

South Bow awarded a $5,000 grant to Andover Fire Department Jan. 6. Andover fire chief Chris Barse explained this money will be used to update their trucks’ equipment and personal protective equipment. Barse said South Bow has provided money in the past.
Webster Area School has demolished the 1950s wing of the building due to the school’s insurance company threatening to drop coverage if the structure was not repaired or raised. Federal government withholds funding since September

At the regular Day County Commissioner’s meeting Dec. 30 OEM director Bryan Anderson brought an update on the LEPG funds. Anderson said the county was supposed to receive these funds a few months ago, but they’re currently held in Pierre awaiting approval from the government.
