Pierpont Fire Department responded to a house fire call at 405 W. Main St. in Pierpont Dec. 27 at 12:55 p.m. which resulted in no injuries as the residence was unoccupied at the time of the fire.

Webster snow company takes care of fresh snow

Roslyn Vinegar Museum receives grant for new roof

Roslyn’s International Vinegar Museum was selected as one of five recipients for the Deadwood Fund Grant fall 2025 cycle which the South Dakota State Historical Society awarded to historic preservation projects across the state.

Webster City Council wraps up end-of-year finances

Webster City Council met Dec. 29 for a special meeting and held a second reading of Supplemental Ordinance #554 which Webster Mayor Mike Grosek said is necessary to appropriate additional funds to the budget for the end of the year.

Battery upgrades to prevent blizzard outage for sheriff’s office

On Nov. 25 Webster experienced a citywide power outage caused by a blizzard. Day County Sheriff’s Office lost power to their phones for around five minutes and it caused a small panic in the office because they didn’t know how long it would be out and if they were receiving any emergency calls.
