At the Nov. 11 Waubay School Board meeting Mayor Brienne Soldier asked about new construction happening at the school. According to Superintendent Scott Lepke, the school started a new locker room project and will replace a lot of the old tiles in the current locker room.

Longtime Webster Area School business manager announces retirement at end of this school year

Wrestling coach also submits resignationWebster Area School Board met Jan. 12 in regular session and accepted the resignation of school business manager Lori O’Farrell who has been with the school for nearly 21 years since May 2005 and will be retiring at the end of the school year on June 30.
A pubic meeting will be held Jan. 23 at the Day County Courthouse where the updating of the county ordinances will be discussed. This is the second in a two-part meeting series to gather public input into the proposed changes before Day County Commissioners would take a vote to implement them. Elected officials seek public input at upcoming meeting about county ordinance amendments

Since 2019, discussions in Day County have been ongoing about updating the county’s rules and laws, known as ordinances. Day County Planning and Zoning Administrator Dari Schlotte is hopeful the deliberating will end and that officials will come to a final decision at an upcoming Jan.

Building projects at Waubay School are put on hold

At the Waubay School Board meeting Jan. 14, members discussed the progress on their locker room building project, but also mentioned other updates for the school. According to Waubay Superintendant Scott Lepke, the school has multiple things in need of updating, not just the locker rooms.

Webster aspires to local phone exchange

15 years ago January 17, 2011Through Dec. 31, Webster recorded 37.3 inches of snow which compares to 38.1 inches during the same period in 1993-94, the year when a record setting 88.3 inches fell.Last year wasn’t as busy as 2009 when it came to building permits.
