Forty-five years and counting

My wife and I recently marked our 45th wedding anniversary. This is a mathematical impossibility as I feel as though I’m not a day over 40. But maybe that’s just my intractable immaturity talking.My wife was 22 and I was 23 when we were wed.

A dense flock of blackbirds and sparrows, among other species, bursts into flight over a rural Webster area farm March 26 as temperatures hovered near 33 degrees. Early spring migration brings large flocks of various species across Day County, where they feed on leftover grain in harvested fields – a seasonal sign of warmer days ahead.
