Groton Area School District opt-out passes

A 10-year tax optout for the Groton Area School District has passed by a majority in last week’s election. The district is now authorized to assess an additional $1,250,000 in property taxes per year for up to 10 years.

Bristol woman celebrates three decades of life with new heart

The day after Easter, 1994, Lorinda Towe got a chance at a renewed life.Two years prior, a virus had destroyed her heart.“Instantly, I couldn’t do anything,” Towe says.She had a choice. Do nothing, and maybe live six months, or take it very easy on her heart and hope for an eventual transplant.
