A utility truck hooked an overhead power line cable causing multiple lines to fall and disconnect June 7 in Webster near Pleasant View Apartments.The event occurred in the middle of the block of 10th Ave. and 7th Street East.

Four percent preliminary budget increase proposed at school board meeting

An increase to the preliminary Capital Outlay school budget was proposed at the Webster Area School Board meeting June 10.The budget increase would entail a four percent increase from the state and would serve to balance the school’s General Fund.

Day County ambulance catches fire during transfer to North Dakota

Day County Ambulance Service is down one vehicle after it caught fire during a patient transfer en route to Fargo, ND June 8. The ambulance vehicle was destroyed near the Colfax, ND exit on I-29 according to a press release issued by the Day County Commission.

Two incoming Webster seniors attended the 81st Annual Boys State last month. The event took place May 27-31 at Northern State University in Aberdeen.Tate Mammenga and Ian Lesnar said they first became intrigued in the program when they saw a poster for Boys State at school.
