Spirit of Dakota award seeking nominations

Spirit of Dakota Award Society is seeking nominations for the 38th anniversary of the Spirit of Dakota Award honoring an outstanding South Dakota woman. Nominations close Aug. 1. Recipient will be announced at a banquet at Huron Event Center Oct. 12.

Qualifies for nationals

Wyatt Nelson, Webster placed third at the Junior High School Rodeo finals in Rapid City May 17-19 qualifying him for National Junior High School Rodeo in Des Moines, IA June 22-29.

Harvard graduate

Brett Monson received a master’s degree in finance from Harvard University, Cambridge, MA. He is a graduate of Webster High School and SDSU, Brookings and is employed as a data analyst for Farm Journal.He is also a member of the Coast Guard Reserve based out of Cape Cod, MA.

NSU honor lists

Northern State University announced students who earned recognition on the president’s, dean’s and academic recognition lists for the spring semester. President’s list honors full-time students who achieved 4.00 GPA, dean’s list from 3.50 to 3.99 GPA. 4.
