Pleasant View Apartments celebrated their 50 year anniversary Dec. 13 by hosting an open house event with drinks and food for the public. Hosting the event, Julie Berger said the celebration brought in 48 people.

Thirteen Progressive Reading Circle members celebrated Christmas with a noon potluck hosted by Jerry Meek Dec. 5 at her home. Gift exchange and games followed the business meeting. Next meeting will be hosted by Fran Rougemont Jan. 9 at Pereboom’s Cafe, Webster.

In the afternoon of Dec. 1 at approximately 1:15 p.m. a pickup truck crashed through the window of the Sioux Valley Co-op gas station.
Members of VFW Post 4690 in Webster made a donation to Webster Theatre in order to bring the showing of a free kids movie for area children. The check donation, in the amount of $1,000, was presented Dec. 10.
