Sanford Health and Bethesda Home welcomed a new CEO Nov. 4. The new CEO, Melissa Cunningham, said she is very excited about the opportunity of moving to the Webster area.Before moving to South Dakota, Cunningham said she lived in Spencer, Iowa for 14 years.

The Groton Area Tigers hosted the Northwestern Wildcats Jan. 21 in a contest which the Tigers won 42-30.After securing the victory over Northwestern, Groton Area’s record improved to 8-3 on the season.Rylee Dunker was the leading scorer for the Tigers with 10 points in the contest.

Waubay-Summit girls basketball took on Ortonville Jan. 18 and the Milbank Bulldogs Jan. 21. In the two game stretch the Mustangs split the games, adding to their season of continual inconsistency.In the Jan. 18 contest against Ortonville the Mustangs were able to win handedly 59-29.

Langford Area Lions started a back-to-back slate of games against the Warner Monarchs Jan 17 and the Florence/Henry Falcons Jan. 18. The Lions lost both of the games, subsequently extending their losing streak to four.In the Jan. 17 contest against Warner the Lions lost with a final score of 43-50.
