After 43 years of music education, Beers heads for retirement

A career spanning over four decades in one specific field is a rare feat, especially one in education. For Waubay School teacher, Jill Beers, this feat has now been accomplished as she has been teaching in Waubay, but after this school year she officially enters a long deserved retirement.

Waubay man continues treck towards running goal

In keeping with his goal of completing a marathon in all 50 states by his 50th birthday, Waubay’s Curtis Huffman ran in the Mesa Marathon in Mesa AZ, Feb. 8, finishing in 62nd place out of more than 3,600 marathoners. Huffman finished the 26.2 mile race in 2:46:57.

Tiger boys scratch up a win against Titans

Groton Area Tigers boys basketball team scratched the Leola/Frederick Area Titans Feb. 11 in an away game. On the quarter scores, they went 22-17, 44-36, 64-47 and finished the game up at 9265.As a team, the Tigers went 24 of 32 on field goals for 75 percent shooting.

Bearcat wrestlers compete in Groton tournament

Webster Area Bearcats competed in the Groton Wrestling Tournament Feb. 1.Girls 152Claire Torrence has a 4-9 record on the season and placed fourth, scoring eight team points. Torrence won via forfeit over Luna Little Elk, McLaughlin in the quarterfinal.
