Local auto dealership gives away car to mother in need

Jaynie Barse was handed the keys to a 2023 Buick Enclave Nov. 1 from Webster’s Northland Auto Center. Price Tag: Zero. Vice president of Northland Auto, Nick Johnson, said he was proud to give the new ride to Jaynie Barse and her family.

Food pantryDuring the month of October, Day County Food Pantry provided food to 124 households totaling 3,503 pounds of goods. Food pantry coordinator Margaret Kwasniewski reported the pantry was in need of fruits, vegetables, breakfast cereal, beans, tissues and dozen egg cartons.

Curtis Huffman of Webster ran in the 50th Marine Corps Marathon in Arlington, Virginia Oct. 26 to complete his 32nd marathon in 31 different states and said he has 19 more states to go in the quest for running a marathon in all 50.

Webster Seniors

Webster Senior Citizens met Oct. 20 with nine members present. Card winners were Marlys Clausen, whist and Dennis DeWitte, pinochle. Helene Eisenbraun served lunch. Next meeting is Nov. 3, 1 p.m. Lunch will be served. Guests are welcome.

New event center on Main Street

BusinessWebster’s Main Street has a new event center called Hot Rod Garage. Loren Schoenbeck and daughter Lindsey Koenig have opened this rentable space for the community to celebrate any event.It has entertainment options including darts, pool table, shuffleboard, arcade games and TVs.
