Okay, so that was unexpected.It wasn’t unexpected to receive a random email from an unknown sender who presented themselves as a New York law firm. Just another chunk of junk mail to chuck. But just for the heck of it I decided to read the missive before dumping it in the digital dustbin.

Progressive Reading Circle met at Jan Ingall’s Dec. 4 for potluck Christmas lunch. With unanimous approval, two new members will be invited to join. Christmas donations were given for the food pantry and for the club’s honorary member.

Andover town board member pitches community organization

At the regular Andover Town Board meeting Dec. 1, board member Sandy Sobolik suggested Andover should start a community organization as a way to bring people together. Sobolik also suggested putting up Christmas lights as another thing the board could do for the community.
Day County Arts Center held their annual Christmas tree lighting Nov. 30. Community members shared live music, Christmas cookies, and tied blankets together for those in need. Day County Arts Center held their annual Christmas tree lighting Nov. 30. Community members shared live music, Christmas cookies, and tied blankets together for those in need. As tree lights were turned on community members sang Christmas carols as part of their annual tradition.

Webster Senior Citizens met Nov. 3 with nine members present. Card winners were Dennis DeWitte, pinochle and Marlys Clausen, whist. DeWitte served lunch. Next meeting is Dec. 1 at Webster Golf Clubhouse for Christmas potluck at noon followed by cards.
