Coyote hunt raises money for South Dakota military

Roslyn Fire Station held the annual Day County Coyote Hunt celebration Dec. 14. The coyote hunt took place Dec. 12-14 and it raised money for needy South Dakota military and family.

Progressive Reading Circle met at Jan Ingall’s Dec. 4 for potluck Christmas lunch. With unanimous approval, two new members will be invited to join. Christmas donations were given for the food pantry and for the club’s honorary member.

Andover town board member pitches community organization

At the regular Andover Town Board meeting Dec. 1, board member Sandy Sobolik suggested Andover should start a community organization as a way to bring people together. Sobolik also suggested putting up Christmas lights as another thing the board could do for the community.

Day County Arts Center held their annual Christmas tree lighting Nov. 30. Community members shared live music, Christmas cookies, and tied blankets together for those in need. As tree lights were turned on community members sang Christmas carols as part of their annual tradition.
