John Suhr does not work for the City of Webster as was alluded in last week’s feature but is rather an employee for the Webster Area Chamber of Commerce. The Webster Area Chamber of Commerce supports Webster businesses as well as those in the surrounding area.

Grajczyk celebrates retirement and more than 15 years of service

Webster local Louise Grajczyk celebrated her retirement and 15-plus years of service with the Day County/Needs Anonymous Food Pantry May 28.Grajczyk, who moved to Webster around 2010 explained how shortly after she moved to town she started to volunteer at Needs Anonymous.

4-H Clubs

Jolly Workers 4-H Club met March 3 at the elementary commons with 16 members present. Baylie Somsen presided. Michael Dorsett led the American pledge and Martin Dorsett, the 4-H pledge. Roll call topic was “Favorite Sport.” Secretary’s report was given by Josie Spiering.

Webster Senior Citizens met with 11 members and one visitor present. Card winners were May Gibson, pinochle; Sharon Hoffer, bridge; co-winners Jeanette Loterbauer and Ilene Stave, whist. Next meeting is June 3, 1 p.m.

Webster’s farmers market returns

Get ready for fresh produce, baked goods and other various local vendors to be back at the Webster Area Farmers Market. Starting May 28, it will run each Tuesday through Pumpkin Fest. The farmers market will be open from 4-6 p.m.
