Waubay/Summit varsity Mustangs tracksters traveled to Hough Schilling Field for the Orville Pfitzer Relays April 15 at Britton.“It was a windy day but the athletes still performed to their best abilities,” said head coach Curtis Huffman.

Webster Area junior high tracksters traveled to Milbank for their first meet of the year with coach Cheryl McCreary looking to improve the team’s effort going forward.“The first meet went well, and we had some decent times and distances,” she said. “(We’ll) keep working to improve.

Bearcat golf results

Tough elements greated Webster Area Bearcat golfers April 11 when they traveled to the Hamlin Early Bird golf meet at Lake Region Golf Course. Because of the weather, the course was reduced to a nine-hole event. Thirty- two girl and 54 boy contestants were at the event.

PIERRE – At its meeting April 17, the board of directors of the South Dakota High School Activities Association hired Kristina Sage as an assistant executive director. Sage is currently the athletic director at Freeman High School.

PIERRE – There are nine people nominated for two positions on the South Dakota High School Activities Association board of directors. Nominations took place April 17 during the association’s annual meeting.Five superintendents were nominated to fill the West River at-large position on the board.
