Rain limits Webster Area track activity

It was a light week for the Webster Area High School track athletes with one major event being canceled due to weather.The Valley Queen Cheese Invite April 30 was canceled, leaving Webster student athletes with the Rob Luecke Invitational April 23 at the Groton Area HS Doney Field.

Webster Area golfers place, despite South Dakota weather interference

Both the Webster Area boys and girls golf teams competed in the Castlewood invite April 22, each placing one golfer in the top five.Head golf coach Tim Lesnar called the performance by golfer Ian Lesnar, “outstanding,” when he had a personal best, two under par with a 34 good for first place.

Incomplete information was submitted to this publicaiton for the April 29 issue resulting in Britton junior high track meet results for Webster Area not including eighth grader Jase Voss, fourth in the 1600 meter run with 6:02.

Webster Bearcats attend Elkton junior high track meet

Webster Area Middle School track team members competed in the Elkton junior high track meet April 25. Bearcat Jaden Lorensberg finished first in girls shot put with a personal record distance of 31’1”. Mckoy Pereboom finished first in high jump setting a personal record with 5’0”.

Webster area High School tracksters travel to Clark

Webster Area Bearcat tracksters traveled to the Clark/Willow Lake Cyclone Track Meet April 23 where many student athletes beat their own personal records and several more put themselves in positions as strong contenders for being in the top 24.

Webster Area junior high track meet held at Britton

Webster Area Middle School seventh and eighth graders competed in the junior high track meet in Britton April 23. “We had lots of personal records today. (I’m) very proud of the kids,” coach Cheryl McCreary said. “They have been showing lots of improvements in the meets we’ve been to.
