Bearcat wrestlers place fourth in Ken Ruml Invitational

Webster Area Bearcats wrestling team competed in the Ken Ruml Invitational Dec. 14 in Howard. The Bearcats had one wrestler win his weight group and finished fourth as a team.Competing in the Ken Ruml Invitational was 12 different teams. Webster Area placed seventh overall scoring 81.5 team points.

Langford Area Lions boys basketball took on the Estelline/Hendricks Redhawks Dec.17 on the road. The Lions lost with a score of 27-72.After the loss suffered against the Redhawks the Lions record now falls to 0-2. The first loss in the season came against the Leola/Frederick Titans 28-70 Dec. 14.

Webster Area Bearcats boys basketball hosted their first home game of the season against the Waubay- Summit Mustangs Dec. 17. Bearcats lost the game in a close contest 44-45.

Tigers boys basketball cruise past Sisseton

Groton Area Tigers boys basketball team faced off against the Sisseton Redmen Dec. 17 at home. Groton notched their first victory of the season in a 73-41 victory.The Tiger record improved to .500 with the victory over Sisseton after losing the season opener against the Hamlin Chargers Dec.

Mustangs girls basketball outlast Bearcats in overtime victory

Waubay-Summit Mustangs girls basketball opened their season in an overtime victory against the Webster Area Bearcats with a score of 50-45. Head coach Sarah Strang said she was proud of her team sticking together through adversity which resulted in a victory.

Webster Area wrestling program started off the 2024-25 wrestling season with the CWL Wrestling Booster Club tournament in Clark Dec. 7 and the Watertown Girls tournament Dec. 6.For the Webster Area boy’s wrestling team the Bearcats placed fourth overall out of 10 teams as they scored 100.

Groton Area girls basketball win in defensive struggle

Groton Area Tigers girls basketball opened their season Dec. 6 against the Timber Lake Panthers. The contest was a defensive struggle with the Tigers winning 39-11.Leading the Tigers offense was Rylee Dunker with seven points on 2-7 field goal attempts.
