Waubay/Summit varsity volleyball swept Leola/ Frederick in three sets Aug. 28 in Waubay with scores of 25-19, 2522 and 25-18 to start the season off 1-0.“Our girls came out ready and hungry for a victory in our first match of the season.

Waubay/Summit cross country competed in the Milbank Breathe Easy Invite Aug. 28 in Milbank.Mustangs had two runners Carsyn Grebner who placed 27th in the 4k distance with a time of 23:24.01 and junior varsity runner Owen Nelson who placed ninth in the 3k distance in 15:30.50.

Bearcats volleyball win some lose some to start season

Webster Area Bearcats volleyball opened their season against Great Plains Lutheran Aug. 26 in Watertown.Despite losing the match in three sets head coach Emily Wagner stated the team made adjustments and learned about what they need to work on going forward.

Bearcats cross country takes third at first meet of season

Milbank Breathe Easy Invite was Aug. 28 in Milbank. Bearcat boys finished third as a team with 73 points.Jase Voss was the Bearcat boy’s top finisher in the 4k run with ninth in a time of 16:18.24. He was followed by; Grady Wagner 10th 16:25.32; Alec Garrett 16th 17:41.52; Aidyn Cyrus 17th 18:26.

Groton volleyball opens season with match win

Groton varsity volleyball opened the season at home against Hamlin and despite dropping the first set they won the next three to steal the contest.Tigers lost their first set 23-25 but recovered with a 25-19 win to even the series.
