Mustang boys rebound from loss with two wins at home

Waubay/Summit Mustang boys basketball began their season at home Dec. 12 against Castlewood Warriors with a 28-55 loss.As a team Mustangs made eight two-point shots, two attempts from three and six of their 17 free throws.

Bearcat boys basketball season begins with losses

Webster Area Bearcat boys varsity basketball team took the court for the first time this season at home against Warner Dec. 13 but couldn’t top the Monarchs and lost 4264.

Webster Area varsity boys wrestlers made the trip to Howard Dec. 13 for the Ken Ruml Invitational tournament and placed seventh of 12 teams with 81.5 points.“It has been a good start to both boys, and the girls seasons so far.

Groton Area girls fall in opener

Groton Area girls basketball started their season Dec. 12 at home against Hamlin Chargers and despite only being down 15-22 at halftime couldn’t keep up with Hamlin falling 21-46.Tigers shot six of 30 on two-point field goals, 1-12 on threes and converted on six of their 12 free throws.

Groton Area boys and girls wrestlers each competed at tournaments In Baltic with the boys attending the Baltic Boys Invitational Dec. 13 and placing first with 180 points and the girls attending the Baltic Girls Invitational Dec. 12 and placing 12th with 25.5 points.

Langford Area boys defeated in Frederick

Langford Area Lions boys varsity basketball took on Leola/Frederick Titans Dec. 13 in Frederick for their first game of the season.With a 15-41 halftime score the Lions couldn’t keep up with the Titans and eventually fell 33-63.

Webster Area girl wrestlers place in Baltic Tournament

Webster Area girls varsity wrestlers competed in the Baltic Girls Invitational Dec. 12 in Baltic and placed seventh of 20 teams with 60.5 points.“It is early in the year and we are happy to have a good start but we still have much more to work on,” head coach Wade Rausch said.
