Lutz named bus driver of the year

15 years ago July 26, 2010For the second time in three years a Webster driver has been chosen School Bus Driver of the Year by the SD Transportation Association. This year’s award went to Webster driver Patty Lutz, whose career spans 35 years in four school districts.

The South Dakota Supreme Court handed a legal loss July 10 to opponents of a Lincoln County prison site lawmakers have already abandoned.In a unanimous ruling, the justices decided that Lincoln County residents don’t have the right to force the state to adhere to local zoning ordinances.

South Dakota university system approves guns-on-campus policy to comply with new state law

The South Dakota Board of Regents approved a policy on July 17 in Brookings allowing people with enhanced permits to carry concealed pistols on the state’s public university campuses.“This is something that we don’t take lightly,” said Regents Executive Director Nathan Lukkes.
