Lawmakers want ambulance services reimbursed for helping patients at home

A group of lawmakers voted Tuesday to back efforts to get ambulance services paid for helping low-income and elderly patients without taking them to a hospital.The vote came during a meeting of the Legislature’s Emergency Medical Services Interim Committee at the Capitol in Pierre.

Waubay area resident hospitalized following gun related incident

Day County Sheriff’s Department including sheriff Jerred Schreur responded to a call Oct. 18 in Waubay at 3 p.m. for a non-hunting firearm related incident.Schreur confirmed the only individual injured was a male in his 20s from the Waubay area but the department was not releasing his name.
