 Historic15 years ago March 28, 2011The calendar may say spring but Mother Nature reminded the area winter is never far away. Day County and much of northeastern South Dakota received a 6-12 inch snow dump March 22-23.

Big plans for first year for Waubay JAG

Waubay’s Jobs for American Graduates (JAG) is in it’s first year and JAG specialist Katie Thompson has spent this time focusing on teaching her students about employers and their future education.

Opitz celebrates 40 years on fair board

Day County Fair Board held a surprise celebration March 16 for Harvey Opitz honoring his 40 years being a member of the fair board. Opitz was told about the open position by 4-H board members since he was also on the 4-H board prior to the fair board, and was appointed Feb. 18, 1986.
