C lubs 4-H LeadersDay County 4-H Leaders Association met April 3. Secretary’s and treasurer’s reports were approved. Shooting Sports reported many have qualified for State Shoot the end of April. Junior Leaders will meet in May to plant flowers at the fairgrounds.

Maryjane Matthews is working at finding where her puzzle piece fits in life. She says she’s come closer than ever before to figuring that out since beginning to attend school at Webster Area.The eighth grader moved to the community with her mom Annette Duarte two years ago.

Gail Torrence hosted 16 members when Progressive Reading Circle met. She also provided the lesson, “Tin Fish” highlighting the preservation and history of canned fish. Members learned about nutritional value of fish and enjoyed numerous samples.

Workzone reminder

Webster Area School fourth grader Penny Rencountre’s artwork was selected statewide winner for the Safety in the Work Zone Contest sponsored by Associated General Contractors of SD. Her artwork will be displayed on a billboard along Hwy. 12 beginning in mid-May.
