Commission consider 911 changes

Day County Sheriff Jerred Schreur presented an amended contract for 911 call services to Day County Commissioners during their regular meeting July 2. The only change from the last contract, he said, was that it was only for one year rather than the traditional two.

Last week, long-time health care provider at Avera Waubay Clinic Brenda Holscher, celebrated her upcoming retirement from the health field with an open house during which upwards of 150 community members turned out to wish her well going into the future.

FEMA reps coming to Webster for meeting on flood waters

FEMA will be having a meeting July 10 at Day County Courthouse.This meeting will discuss topics such as flood plains along with lake measurements according to Bryan Anderson who is the OEM director for the Day County Emergency Management office.The meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m.

Waubay Fun Fest will take place July 1920. This year’s theme is Party by the Shore in ‘24.This annual event is hosted by the Waubay Green Buffalo Club. Fun Fest will kick off July 19 with a beer garden opening at 5 p.m.
