During this election cycle Day County residents will have the opportunity to vote in a new District 4 commissioner. Running for the position are Colin Johnson, Amy Fischer and Roy Aldrich. Johnson is a business owner who is a high school graduate.

Running for the District 2 commissioner position are John Suhr, Blake Torrence and Janet Marx. Suhr is a retired co-publisher of the Reporter & Farmer who graduated with a journalism degree from South Dakota State University. Suhr has a wife, LeAnn and two children, his daughter Betsy and son Adam.
