Local cafe receives state award in recognition of community service, area involvement

Owners of Pereboom’s Cafe in Webster, Jay and Janice Pereboom, have been recognized for a community service award on behalf of the South Dakota Retailers Association.
In Roslyn the 18th annual coyote hunt organized by Patti Mitchell took place Dec. 13-15. During the competiton, 74 total coyotes were harvested. Here from left, Adam Imberi from Clark stands next to Mitchell and his teammate Dominic Plunkott from Watertown as they are handed their check worth $1,500. Roslyn’s annual coyote hunt turn out is one of largest ever, has successful results

The 18th annual coyote hunt took place in Roslyn Dec. 13-15 with 24 teams registering to partake in the activities.
Chestnuts were being roasted for all attendees to try Dec. 14 at the Fort Sisseton Historical State Park’s Frontier Christmas. Gabrielle Snell, Webster graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in dental hygiene from Minnesota State University, Mankato at the end of the fall 2024 semester. Commencement ceremonies were Dec. 14.
Webster Area School received a donation from Day County Wind totaling $5,000 to fund new basketball hoops and backboards for the Webster Elementary gym Dec. 12.
