Running for the District 2 commissioner position are John Suhr, Blake Torrence and Janet Marx. Suhr is a retired co-publisher of the Reporter & Farmer who graduated with a journalism degree from South Dakota State University. Suhr has a wife, LeAnn and two children, his daughter Betsy and son Adam.
