Webster offering tree planting program to diversify urban forest

Over the next few years, Webster’s urban forest could get a refresh thanks to a new pilot program sponsored by the city and run in conjunction with Day County Conservation District.Sign ups are going on now for spring planting, according to Josh Wagner with the Day County Conservation District.

Elk shot near Clark County

Dating back to Nov. 13 through Nov. 21 three captive elk were shot and killed near Crandall. Clark County Sheriff Tad Heaton said there has been no guilty party found and a $5,000 reward will be distributed to those who have information which could lead to an arrest.

Webster Senior Citizens met Nov. 4 with 11 members present. Card winners were Sharon Hofer, bridge; Mary Biersbach, whist and Jim Gollnick, pinochle. Elaine Bistodeau served lunch. Next meeting is Dec. 2, 12 noon with Christmas potluck.
