Local cafe receives state award in recognition of community service, area involvement

Owners of Pereboom’s Cafe in Webster, Jay and Janice Pereboom, have been recognized for a community service award on behalf of the South Dakota Retailers Association. The Perebooms will receive their award in Pierre Jan. 13 at the annual SDRA meeting.
In Roslyn the 18th annual coyote hunt organized by Patti Mitchell took place Dec. 13-15. During the competiton, 74 total coyotes were harvested. Roslyn’s annual coyote hunt turn out is one of largest ever, has successful results

The 18th annual coyote hunt took place in Roslyn Dec. 13-15 with 24 teams registering to partake in the activities. According to the founder of the Roslyn coyote hunt Patti Mitchell, funds raised from the event will be donated to South Dakota military personnel and their families across the state.
Chestnuts were being roasted for all attendees to try Dec. 14 at the Fort Sisseton Historical State Park’s Frontier Christmas. Gabrielle Snell, Webster graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in dental hygiene from Minnesota State University, Mankato at the end of the fall 2024 semester. Commencement ceremonies were Dec. 14.
