Legislature sustains veto of geographic signature requirement for constitutional amendment petitions

Petitioners hoping to put state constitutional amendments on the ballot won’t need signatures from each of South Dakota’s legislative Senate districts.After the governor vetoed a bill containing the requirement, the state Senate sustained the veto March 31 at the Capitol in Pierre.

State AAU wrestling tournament was March 29-30 in Rapid City. Twelve Webster wrestlers competed with eight wrestlers placing among over 1,600 wrestlers competing. Coach Curtis Huffman said, “This year we had a lot of younger kids come out for wrestling, which is great to see.
