VFW Post 4690 catches a glimpse of their first win on the season

VFW Post 4690 fought to the very end in a two-game series against the Redfield Flickertails June 26.Redfield scored five runs in the top of the first inning of the first game, but VFW was able to keep up to an extent, scoring two runs of their own.

Webster American Legion Post 40 beat Claremont 13-12 in 11 innings June 19.The starting pitcher for Post 40 was Carter Williams who gave up five runs in six innings throughout the game.Blaise Amdahl pitched the seventh inning, serving as relief for Williams.

Webster’s American Legion Post 40 lost to Sisseton 16-4 in five innings June 21.According to Coach Chad Hesla, Ian Lesnar was the starting pitcher for Post 40, followed by Devin Snaza and Dylan Carlson in an attempt to stop the onslaught of runs from Sisseton.

Pereboom qualifiesMcKoy Pereboom participated in the Huron swim meet June 21-23. He earned first overall in high point meet for boys13 -14 and qualified for the SD state long course meet July 19-21 in Rapid City. His times were 200m IM 2:37.07, 200m free2:17.07, 400m IM 5:40.47,200m back 2:44.

Webster’s VFW Post 4690 fell to Milbank Junior Teeners 21-0 June 20 at Bob Wiley Field.VFW Post 4690 starting pitcher Quinn Simonson pitched for the first inning and a third of the game, letting up three runs in the first inning.

SportSSouth Dakota High School Rodeo Finals were in Fort Pierre June 13-15.

Webster’s U10 baseball team took in a round robin tournament last weekend, winning all three games they played. The event was hosted by the Webster and Roslyn communities June 15.
