Webster Area student Gage Wik is pictured competing in regional high school calf roping. He placed fifth-team roping, sixth tie down in Huron and sixth team roping in Watertown. He and Bryn Sippel competed in two weekends of East River regional high school rodeos June 7-8 in Huron and June 14-15 in Watertown and were eligible to compete in the 76th South Dakota State High School Rodeo Finals in Ft. Webster VFW Post 4690 Teeners lost their first game June 6 against the Redfield Flickertails 6-11 in Redfield.Chase Gregerson started the game for Webster. Gregerson allowed four hits and six runs over two innings, striking out one and walking one.
Jack Shoemaker pitched during Webster Legion Post 40’s 4-2 victory over Claremont at Bob Wiley Field in Webster. Shoemaker totaled 10 strikeouts with two hits and two walks during his five inning complete game.
