Recently, with the passing of a family friend at the age of 92, I have been thinking about what we can learn from those who have come before us.Though I didn’t have much in common with her, this lady had been a figure in my life since I was four and was like a grandmother.

On the eve of a big election, a politician ran into Ole and asked proudly, “Did you see my last speech?”Ole replied, “Vell, ya, I sure hope so!” ~~~ Soon after Ole and Lena got married, Lena was baking a ham. As Ole was watching, Lena cut off either end of the ham before placing it into the pan.
