Being thankful for the old traditions and new blessings

The past year has been full of unexpected blessings and new things for me to be thankful for – a new job, becoming an uncle and new friendships – but it has also made me more thankful for things I took for granted.

An apology for a mistake made

I was arrested for driving under the influence Nov. 22 in Webster. I made an illegal u-turn on Main Street pulling out of a parking space and was pulled over immediately. No one was hurt and everyone involved is safe. My court date is in January.

Live with a grateful heart and be a blessing to others

Some may look to Thanksgiving as just the pregame to the holiday season, or the kickoff to Christmas and New Year; the “brown” holiday before the real sparkle and pizzazz everyone is excitedly waiting for. If you think about it; however, Thanksgiving is a pretty magical time of year, too.

Living vicariously through my brother and his football team

Besides my bias of thinking football is the greatest sport in the history of the world I love the grit of high school athletics and the platform it gives students who might otherwise not have motivations. For me this culminates in high school football.

Oh, the places I’ve gone

I love traveling to new places despite usually having quite the cultural shock whenever I go somewhere new. I’ve traveled a lot within the Midwest and have only traveled outside of the area a few times.
