Living vicariously through my brother and his football team

Besides my bias of thinking football is the greatest sport in the history of the world I love the grit of high school athletics and the platform it gives students who might otherwise not have motivations. For me this culminates in high school football.

Oh, the places I’ve gone

I love traveling to new places despite usually having quite the cultural shock whenever I go somewhere new. I’ve traveled a lot within the Midwest and have only traveled outside of the area a few times.

Growing up I’m sure most of us were told harmless lies by our parents or other adults. Whether it be the Tooth Fairy who must have sneaked those quarters beneath our pillow or that coffee would stunt our growth, I have picked a few of my favorites over the years to share.

When sleep-inducing techniques fail

I have a love-hate relationship with sleep. On one hand, it’s needed and I enjoy feeling well rested. On the other hand, it takes up to much time and is way too hard to stay asleep. I wish I could be well rested without having to get a full night’s rest.

As a kid I would often pester my parents with claims of being bored. Completely sure there was nothing interesting to fill my time with, and uninterested in the usual fun and games, I would complain about how there was “nothing to do around here.

I have consumed an outrageous amount of media in my life. From boxes of books and music that won’t fit on a shelf and a list of about 50 shows and movies I still need to watch, to a countless number of video games I still haven’t played.

In the early 1970s, the south block of Main St. was a veritable fashion district. The Elevator Store had been standing there nearly as long as Webster itself. It dated back to the 1800s and smelled of fresh fabric and history.
