Terry Johnson, 79, Webster, died Sept. 21, 2024, at Sanford Hospital Webster.
Memorial services were Sept. 27 at Fiksdal Funeral Service. Pastor Mike DeKraai officiated.
Terry A. Johnson was born Dec. 13, 1944, to Donald and Hazel (Tofley) Johnson at Webster. He was baptized and confirmed at American Lutheran Church, Webster. He attended school in Webster and graduated from WHS in 1962. After high school, he joined the South Dakota National Guard.
He married Renae Buckley Feb. 14, 1966 at Grace Lutheran Church, Watertown. They lived on a farm near Webster. He farmed with his father and worked at East River Electric and Batie Implement. After the passing of his father, he took over the farm and dairy operation. After retiring from farming, he worked at Jorgenson Meat Processing, Sturdevant’s and Powder Tech.
He rode and broke horses, attended horse sales and rodeos whenever given the chance. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, attending the state fair each year, gardening and sharing the produce with family and friends. He enjoyed fixing and building things. He enjoyed coffee with friends catching up on the daily news and events. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, attending their events and teaching them about gardening, shooting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife; son, Jeff and HteeNa; daughter, Michelle and Darrel; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Babette and Clark; brother-inlaw, Marv; nieces, nephews and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Connie; one niece; mother and father-inlaw, Betty and Bill and brother-in-law, David.
