Sharon Monshaugen, 83, Roslyn died June 2, 2024, at Strand-Kjorsvig Living Center, Roslyn.
Memorial services were June 8, 10:30 a.m. at Fron Lutheran Church near Roslyn and were livestreamed. Inurnment was at Roslyn Cemetery. Memorial visitation was June 7, 5-7 p.m. with 6:45 prayer service at Fiksdal Funeral Service, Webster.
Sharon Leann Sellevold was born Oct. 15, 1940, to Chester and Madelyn Sellevold at Webster. She was baptized and confirmed at Roslyn Lutheran Church and attended country school at Nutley Township 166. She graduated from Roslyn High School in 1958 and furthered her education at Northern Teachers College, Aberdeen.
She married Gary L. Johnson June 5, 1959, at Roslyn Lutheran Church. They lived on the Sellevold homestead, near Grenville.
She married Wesley Monshaugen Sept. 19, 1981 at St. John’s Lutheran Church. They lived in Roslyn. She worked at Darlene’s Market, Roslyn and helped with their trucking company. In November 1995, they moved to Mexico. She worked as a volunteer tutor at a university teaching English. They returned to Roslyn in February 1997. She worked at Strand-Kjorsvig in many departments over the years. She helped found “The Roslyn Creamery Band” hosting jamborees for many years in Roslyn.
She was a lifelong member of Roslyn Lutheran Church until its closing. She was active in Roslyn Music Mothers and taught Sunday School. She was currently a member of Fron Lutheran Church. She enjoyed animals, especially cats, music, visiting over a cup of coffee and attending her grandsons’ sporting events and activities.
Survivors include her husband, Roslyn; son, Lonnie and Marie Johnson, Grenville; four grandsons, many great-grandchildren; mother-in-law, Thelma Monshaugen, Roslyn; step-sons, Scott and Terrie Monshaugen, Sioux Falls; Alan and Ellen Monshaugen, Walnut Grove, MN; Mark and Jennifer Monshaugen, Chapel Hill, NC; sistersin- law, Ramona Wold, Fridley, MN; Carol Randall, St. John’s, FL; Lois and Craig Dow, Arlington, TX; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jayne Hayes; daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Johnson; former husband and father-inlaw, Alfred Monshaugen.
