Robert Keith Parker, 83, Webster, died Nov. 9, 2024 at his home in Webster.
A memorial service was Nov. 14 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Webster and was livestreamed via Fiksdal Funeral Service. Military honors were presented. Inurnment was at Toronto City Cemetery.
Robert Keith Parker was born July 7, 1941 to C. Elmer and Flossie (Elliott) in Brookings. He was baptized at Woodlake Church and confirmed at Leganger Church, Toronto. He attended Goodview District #53 country school and high school in Clear Lake, where he enjoyed running track. He graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1959. He joined the South Dakota National Guard and was discharged in 1965.
He married Lucille Nelson April 30, 1966 at Leganger Church. He attended Lake Area Tech to obtain his degree in agriculture business. They moved around a bit before settling in Webster, where he took a position at Centrol. He worked as an agriculture crop consultant for some time until starting his own consulting firm, Rolling Plains Consulting. He retired in 2005, but he sold Mustang Seed for several years until his “second retirement.” He transported cars and boats for local dealerships until the long trips became too much.
He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Webster, where he was past council member, member of the St. John’s Men’s Group and served as an usher for many years. He was a member of SD Independent Crop Consultants Association. He enjoyed following Bearcat sports, playing card games on his computer, word search and fishing. He especially enjoyed many fishing trips to Canada and his family.
Survivors include his wife, Webster; children, Todd and Louise Parker, Spicer, MN; Denise Parker, Sunlakes, AZ; one grandson; sister Eva Mae Hinricher, Knoxville, IA; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Lyle, Gerald, Melvin, Laura and Arlett.
