Bob Grebel, age 83, devoted his life to education and community service. Holding three master’s degrees in school administration, guidance counseling, and special education, Bob dedicated his career to understanding and supporting students beyond traditional teaching methods. Raised in South Dakota, he attended 14 different schools. He was not interested in school and that shaped his passion for improving education and advocating a better role model for youth.

Throughout his career, Bob taught European and Native American history and worked closely with reservations to guide students and teachers. Known for his compassionate approach, he was always present for his students, attending school events and offering personal support.

Beyond education, Bob served his communities as a city council member in Waubay for 17 years and as mayor of Bristol for one term. He was also a devoted pastor, finding joy in leading devotions and sharing scripture, with Psalm 23 holding special meaning for him.

His lifelong dedication to education, faith, and community left a lasting impact on those he served and inspired.

He will be remembered for his passion, kindness, and unwavering commitment to helping others.
