Michael Kvernevig

Michael Floyd Kvernevig, 57, Kasson, MN, died Feb. 3, 2025 of an apparent heart attack.

Visitation will be May 23, 5-7 p.m., prayer service at 6:30 p.m., at Fiksdal Funeral Home, Webster. Feel free to wear your favorite sports team attire or support one of Mike’s. Funeral will be at Fiksdal Funeral Home, Webster May 24, 2 p.m., followed by burial at

Webster Cemetery.

Michael Floyd Kvernevig was born Nov. 29, 1967, to Gary and Dlon (Roseth) Kvernevig in Aberdeen. He was baptized and confirmed at Bethesda Lutheran Church, Bristol. He grew up and attended school in Bristol. After graduating from Bristol High School, he attended South Dakota State University, Brookings and earned a degree in microbiology. In 1990, he started a career in the pharmaceutical field at Fort Dodge Animal Health, Fort Dodge, IA. He was most recently director of production at Pharmaceutical Specialties Inc. (PSI) in Rochester, MN. He also worked at Raytheon Engineers & Constructors, Kansas City, MO; Thermo Fisher Scientific, Lenexa, KS; Zoetis, Charles City, IA and Takeda Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Brooklyn Park, MN.

He enjoyed golfing and was an avid sports fan, especially Minnesota Vikings, KC Chiefs and SDSU Jackrabbits. His favorite sporting events were ones where his boys were participants. He enjoyed telling stories, spending time with family and friends and hunting or fishing in South Dakota.

Survivors include two sons, Brenden Kvernevig, Des Moines, IA; Ryan Kvernevig, Charles City; parents, Aberdeen; sisters, Lori Kvernevig, Lino Lakes, MN; Shawn and Jeffrey Hanson, Bath; Melissa and Patrick Haugh, Winnebago, MN; one niece, three nephews and three great-nieces.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
