Marvin Stern, 81, rural Conde, died Feb. 27, 2026, at Bethesda Home, Webster.
Funeral services were March 7, 11 a.m. at Crocker Lutheran Church, Crocker. Military interment will be later at Bristol Cemetery. Visitation was March 6, 5-7 p.m. at Fiksdal Funeral Service, Webster.
Marvin “Bud” Stern was born Feb. 1, 1945 to Ralph and Pearl Stern in Clark. He was baptized April 25, 1945 in Crocker and confirmed at Crocker church May 15, 1960.
He married Marilyn Willis Feb. 8, 1967. A career farmer, he raised cattle and sheep. He was a jack of all trades, doing mechanic work, carpentry, fixing equipment and building things with his hands. He was baptized as an adult Aug. 17, 2008 at the Gulch, surrounded by family and friends.
He enjoyed dancing with his wife and daughters at weddings and at Crocker dances. Outside of farming, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also had a playful side and turned hard work into lasting family memories.
Survivors include his wife; children, Becky and George Erdahl, Vicki and Thad Duerre; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jim Stern; one granddaughter; brother, Ordean Stern and sister, Marcella Gross.
